Dye Carbon Fibre Boomstick

Hi, i'm wondering if anyone could help me with the do's and don'ts of the cf boomstick. I was told that some cf barrels shouldn't be squeegee'd because it might mess up the internals or something like that? Is it alright if i run some water through it to clean it?

The dye cf boostick is fine to run water through it and squegee as it has a stainless steel liner inside the barrell. Other cf barrels have bare carbon weave which pick up the fluff from squegees.
