Dye boomstick

I have a 12" boomstick 2 piece and want to get a smaller back and a 14" front. I assume the ultralites backs etc are not compatible with the boomies and visa versa.

I *think* the threads on all Dye & Proto barrels are universal (i.e. any back can screw into any front). Hopefully someone can confirm this?

Any one know where to get cheap ultralites from as i can get a 14" boomer cheaper than the 2 parts in ultralite form???
