first off no hard feelings

well done the north, you won fair and square, because you played hard, you played well, thats that

the south, well where to start!

i don't know if it was over confidence or hangovers but i can only describe a large chunk of the souths play as languid and static, every one stood round in groups while a few brave singular players actually tried to push forward got no support, hell we got a few cheers for trying, but no one seemed to wanna take a chance, the north were taking those chances, and they won

i know i'm gonna cop it for this but if you know me (as a few on here do) and if i'd thought you were doing this, i'd have told you at the time,

not for a minute am i gonna take away from the north resounding victory, they worked very hard for it, but i kinda think we helped them win it in some ways, i realise i wasn't every everywhere all the time but the comment i'm making here was also made a lot at the end of the day by a good few of the south players

however my hat's off the the platoon leader with the splat master and the player with the oil drum on his head, you know who you are, nice one lads

Hi Denn,I must say that the points you rase in your post DO also apply to about 30% of the Norths players as well !!!,I've lost my voice from all the shouting at our massive squad of back players,it was much better than last year but for me if you don't want to play you should stay at home.
It has nothing to do with the games organisation, refing or leadership some players are just lazy b*****d's who spoil other players games  .
All in all ,not including the score,it was a good day, although I'm knackerd `cos Blakey worked my socks of all day.

By the way was it you and 3 of your "lady friends" in our caravan on Saturday night ?,we were near the gate .

indeed it was, one of those hadn't played before, one other just once, and they both were commenting on the problem too,

Its impossible to keep players out who don't want to get too involved, were you still in the 'van when Parksey was there ? as he'd put some measures in place to get some of the lazy ones more involved and they had some effect, but I can't see the point of paying £25+paint +transport +air etc. to stand 40 yds away from the main game longballing trees !!!.

How did your newbie cope then ?

she had fun but thinks everyone should have site tippmanns and try to play rather than stand in 2 lines redecorating the groung 3 foot in front of each other

the rental players had very little chance and i'm with her on that

not sure on that one, cartainly last year my bro was rental and that didn't stop him going for it.

now he's playing for SPG Spirt, has his own gearr and was the first Northern player to touch the South base.

I think its more down to trying to make a good mix of own gunners and rentals in each platoon, let's face it your more likly to feel confident if you've got somone who knows what there doing, can lead by example and generally make sure you know what's going on.

That said i wouldn't recommend The Big Game to someone who had never played before, it just too god dammned scary

I took a splatty out at one point. But i assume you meant the south?

Along with Fleisher i think we must have shouted more then the crowd at a Tom Jones concert. It took a lot of hard work to get people to push forward and fight, i just lead by example. Most of the time it worked (thank god!).

In the final northern push when all you fannys were backing off, ONE of your rental players ran at us. I was so proud of him. One rental player outta all those southern monkeys DARED to charge us! You should be ashamed :D
