would i be able to fit any type of drop forward on to my tippy 98 or does it have to be a tippmann made one?? also do they add any performance to your gun??? cause i saw a tippmann 98 advertised on ebay with a dye on/off drop forward any help wold be apprecated

It doesn't really add any performance to the gun. It make it so the gun is closer to you. The Dye on/off has a little screw on it and when you screw it in it puts air into your gun. Screw it out and it turns the air off but there will still be one or two shots in your gun (maybe none) depending on what gun you have.

The on/off also makes it easier to unscrew the air bottle as you have released the pressure beofre you start taking off the air bottle.

Tippmanns run standard 2 screw fittings

you would be able to fit a drop forward but the connecting the drop forward to your ASA is where you would need to consider.

Throw up what drop forward your looking to fit? (not that i think fitting a drip forward is a particularly good idea in the first place)
