Dragon's Lair tourny - 18th May. Great day!

I was suprised to see such a good turnout for a tournament that clashed with the M25 league and the quality of play was superb from all the teams.

Teams taking part were:

Redskins
Redskins Braves
Kestrels
Saxon Raiders
Cougars
Helloween
Tremor SC
Legion
Jesters

Ray and Jean opted for a no-woodland fields event for the first time - running one sup-air (excellent!) and one concept field (average).

Organisation on the day was superb, with games running either on time, or in some cases early. Marshalling was spot on, but they had their lives made easier by good sportsmanship from every team - people calling themselves out left, right and centre.

Results at the end of the day were:

1st Kestrels
2nd Saxon Raiders
3rd Redskins Braves

With the Redskins scalping themselves (for the second month in a row) with hotgun penalties, dropping from 1st to 4th. Doh!

A great day's paintball - next in the series is June 24th, Dragon's Lair, Brentwood, Essex.

Thanks to all at Dragon's Lair, we had a great day, just a shame about the hot gun on our team near the end of the day. All in all, good fun, relaxed, very friendly teams, and the SupAir field was great.

PS. Staying in the Nuclear Bunker was good fun, especially when we ran away from one of team and left him on his own down some dark windy passage inside

Cheers, the tops make us stand out in a crowd.. which is needed on team nights out cause we've usually had a couple of drinks and tend to get seperated

We should be down again on the 22nd, hopefully there'll be a few more of us. We'll drive down on the sat and stay in the bunker again, it's a good laugh, you should join us. It's about a 3-4 hour drive from here, but nearly all of it is motorway so it's not that bad, as long as we stay well clear of Birmingham.

I still think seeing a signpost saying "Secret Nuclear Bunker - This way" is one of the funniest things ever. I'll have to take a photo of it next time

Cool, we should have both Redskins teams there again.

With any luck none of us will get hot guns next time.

We got 175 penalties this time (we'd have just pipped the Kestrels to first without em - dunno if we'd have beaten you guys without the 300 penalties though).

The month before got 630 penalties for one gun (mine) which chrono'd at 280 on the way out then went ridiculously hot on the way in (341, 343, 342.....oof! good job I was having a bad day and didn't hit anyone in that game) which knocked us from first to last.
