i noticed the other day that one of my 20oz co2 bottles is stamped with dot markings...does that meen it is also illegal in this country? ive used it hundreds of times and dont think anyone has ever even looked at it!

also are co2 bottles supposed to be tested in anyway? ive had one of mine at least 10 years!

Yes your DOT tank is illegal for you to fill or have filled in this country...thought I had said that

A CO2 bottle can (well should be able to ;) ) tested by the same people who will test the air tanks but unless you are talking about 20oz tanks the cost will nearly be as much as buying a new one...they do get checked as one of my team discovered the yr before last at the World Cup...and the cost for test versus the cost of new meant he bought a new tank...there was a "slightly" ill informed post some while back regarding the excemption of some sizes but you wanna trust a 10 yr old untested tank?

mmmm in a word.....bugger!

that meens one of my tanks is only fit for the bin and the other is WELL out of test....strange noone has ever quieried them. i had them both filled just a couple of weeks ago....infact i had new antisyphon tubes put in too.

prob cheaper to change to bleeding air than buy a new one and get the other tested :(

I doubt many people think in terms of testing CO2 cylinders. For one thing they are under far less pressure (900psi equivalent from my hazy memory) and for another people tend to fill them themselves

a new co2 bottle shouldn't cost that much. I can get a 20oz for £20 roughly and i'm sure the testing doesn't cost that much. But get air/nitro anyway coz it's better :D
