DOT bottles

Just wondering about DOT tested bottles. Am I right in thinking there is nothing you can do to make then legal for use in uk?
The reason I ask is I've seen one on eBay (a nice bottle it must be said), I sent a message to the seller asking and he replied stating that it is from America and so is dot. I did then warn him but am now slightly worried that some poor unsuspecting person will spend alot of money on something they won't be able to use.

Any info/thoughts would be welcome

Dot cannot be retested to be uk compliant
If it has multiple markings including pi then it's uk legal, otherwise it's us only

If concerned about other buyers put a public question on the eBay item about dot

Be aware that before mid 2003 bottles were not given the PI symbol, these bottles were marked HSE AL FW2 as well as DOT. They are UK LEGAL and can be tested.

Ok. The bottle is new, as in less than a year old, the guy bought it and had it imported from the states. I think I'll put in the question as advised. Thanks for all your help

If it's a DOT only bottle don't buy it.. unless planning to relocate to the USA

If it is I've mailed the seller already but had no response, looks like the seller is trying to rip off unsuspecting people.
Probably bought it from the States to save a quid in the first place then told it's not legal

Hmm it got sold, needle in a haystack but keep an eye out for a Ninja bottle at a site near you, this is not UK legal!

had a daft mate go and get a ninja bottle shipped all the way over here then when he became enlightened had to ship it all the way back across the pond to get a guerilla shipped all the way back, turned out a rather expensive purchase!
