DOnt understand how to fit the QEV ,Ion

hi,

just bought a QEV but i dont understand how to fit it into my ion,

ive looked on the SP site , but it doesnt look like the one in the manual

it replaces the middle banjo if my memory serves me correctlly.... so you detached the two pipes from the stock middle banjo and Replace it with the Qev reattaching the two pipes......

and then screw it into the hole that the stock banjo came out of...

sorry, i meant that theres no way to screw it into the breech or firing chamber (or whatever it happens to be called) theres no place for an allen key to go.

What QEV have you bought mate? the SP 360 QEV is recomended which has an Allen screw to screw into the bolt

i assume it is and SP it came in an SP package

but i bought it off another member and it only came with what is in the picture

if it is the SP qev there will be an allen key hole on the top.
if it is one of the clippard type QEVs then it will not.

either way you need to remove the middle banjo from the firing assembly - the one under the breech - and screw in the qev (by hand for clippard - allen for the SP).

edit: to fit a clippard qev you may need to trim out some of the plastic body on the ion to let you screw it in properly....

remove the banjo from the microline.

cut the microline to the length required to attach to the qev - make sure you get a good straight cut across.

fit the line to the qev.

reassemble.

go play.

Ion body are 10 a penny mate but i would recommend the sp360 qev as they are designed for the ion

Pics would be good and we can tell you what it is

i dont really want to cut up body.

not much cutting to do really - it is on the underside, the part that can't be seen anyway.

that is the one that is on the gun, now i look at it againtst stock photos it looks like it might BE a QEV
