does this o-ring matter?

Ok well was out yesterday playing, opened the breach on my ir3 and the tiny o-ring that is on the bottom of the breach near the front fell out. i couldn't find it so what i really want to know is if it is important or if i could get by with out it, from the looks of it it doesn't seem to do much but i don't have very much experience with these things

any help would be appreciated

It's not vital, but when you get chance to replace do so. Do you have any to replace it, if not give me your address by pm and i'll send a few out to you.
