well although i play sup air, i do like the occasional game in the woods, but i wouldnt do woodland tournies
I actually had a twinge of longing for a game on field 1 at Dragons Lair earlier today!! Is that place still open? Is it the same as it always was?
I haven't played proper woodland since last year, but I gotta admit, it's a laff once in a while.
Airball still kicks the shiznick out of woodland tho...

Woodland used to be good dont get me wrong, but since the dawn of hyper and sup'air ball, the game has become :-
Safer
Faster
More technical
Easier to watch
Easier to judge
Improved image of sport (cleaner & more professional looking)
Changed peoples perspective about paintball (no more grown men playing soldier crap!)
There are alot more plus points in favour of the two above, over woodland, especially if it is to become globally larger and globally more televised.
Or is that just utter bollocks

Still play a bit of punter-ball now and then. But not woodland tourneys any more. Sliding into a jagged tree stump hurts a lot more than burning your kneecaps on astroturf. And running on a soft flat surface is more appealing than a swamp these days!

I heard yesterday that Dragons Lair has opened up again.A local team are playing there next weekend. The problem is that even they have bowed down to the preassure and gone all sup-air and concept. Although the woodland fields are still there. Can anybody confirm this?
