Hey everyone.
I am looking to buy my first marker and I am trying to think on what one to get.
What i am wondering atm is if the Scope/Reddot attatchments you get get on the Tippmans are really worth that extra money (and if they are really effective) to get the marker for compared with the Azodin Kaos and other markers.
Thanks in advance.

I've found scopes and dot sights fairly useless on paintball markers. Tippmans are very reliable but fairly heavy and thirsty on air. I've not tried a Kaos but that class of marker (stacked tube blow backs) are a bit lighter, they are probably just as thirsty (haven't used one for about 4 years so can't say for sure).

I thought so, Reddots wont really work on a paintball marker. What do you say I should get? A tippmann (Us army/A5) or the Azodin Kaos?

If you're playing in the woods I would suggest the A5 - the built in hopper helps avoid chopping balls without having to buy an electric hopper. Buy secondhand and remember a lot of the stuff you can buy for them (like fake magazines) are just for show. You could probably pick one up for £120 ish, then you'll need a bottle.

I've just had a quick search and can't find any Etek 1's or 2's for sale. Im on a budget (Just getting into pb). There are no Paintball stores near me so I can't try out any markers so I'll guess I will have to look at tons of videos and reviews to find a marker for me :)
Thanks anyway mate.

I used the invert halo too for quite a decent stretch so I believe I can give a decent opinion on it. I used it as my starter hopper up until Christmas when I upgrades to a rotor. The halo too is very rugged and can be thrown around (didn't test this obviously ;) ) and will still normally work. It uses less batteries than the normal halo but they do need to be changed quite frequently. It feeds as fast as you can shoot and hardly ever jams but when it does it is a nightmare due to a pretty bad shell design where it all has to be taken apart unless you have a rip wheel which may help.

Overall it is a really great beginner hopper and served me very well.

an alternative would be to find out where there is a local walk on and find some people that are going from on here, lots of people have spare kit and might lend you different markers to have a go with so you can get a feel for what you like. You might even find people with kit they want to sell you could use for the day and decide on at the end of the day. At least that would work up here in the north were we're all friendly.....
