It is allowed...

aslong as you dont call yourself out. You dont want to call yourself out (because then you are out). You want the opposing team to think that you are out.

The best way to pull it off is to pick up your pods, have your gun in one hand and have it pointed down. Then just walked towards wherever you wanna go or whoever ya wanna bunker.

I'd add a question to this--with dead boxes behind your own flag station, how does one go about 'walking toward what they want to bunker'? Or do you only pull a DMW when you are the last guy on the field, and let them come to you?

In portugal at the millenuim series the dead boxes were in the corners of the fields, so if u were on the other tape you could theoretically walk across the whole field to get to the dead box, but most of the time ud get lit up even if u had your hand up as you walked away.

Whether a DMW is legal depends on the tournament. Most majors (NPPL, Mil, PSP) allow it. Basically, it's what Weedave said - act like you're out, mosey towards the deadbox, wait for the other team to get near, then light 'em up. Unless it's down to 1 or 2 players on the other team, expect to get lit up in return.

Talking to yourself, cursing your gun/teammates/refs and messsing with your gun can help you pull off the DMW.

Hmm, I dunno if this is a similar question or not then - when the whistle blows, is there anything in the rules that says you MUST break to a bunker? Can u leave one man in the deadzone and have him pick off anybody who tries to run for the flag (thinking the field is clear)?

We have played in tournaments where this was an option. The referees told us that you had to start behind the tarp (in the dead box), that you couldn't shoot until you had cleared it, that you had to be behind it when the start whistle blew. They said nothing about how soon you had to come out. So why not?
