DM7 red led flash 3 times

Basically when I turn on the marker the led is red (eyes on, signifying nothing in the breech) but after a second or so the red led flashes 3 times then goes solid red again. When I put my finger in the breech the led turns green, but then again after a second or so I get 3 red flashes, then back to green. If I turn the eyes off, it flashes red as usual, but stops firing during the 3 red flash period.

Ive reset all board settings to default.

Anyone have any ideas? I have not aired up the marker, simply firing it with no air/paint.

The multi-color LEDs that shine out the side of the grip frame show which mode of operation the marker is currently in:
Rapid Blinking Red At startup this indicates an exhausted battery
Rapid Blinking Yellow At startup this indicates a low battery
Rapid Blinking Green At start this indicates a good battery
Solid Blue Ball in breech, ready to fire
Slow Blinking Blue No ball in breech
Slow Blinking Yellow Eye malfunction, max rate of fire reduced to 12 bps; clean eyes or make sure the gun is fired with paint and air
Slow Blinking Red Eyes disabled, rate of fire limited to 20 balls per second in
mode 1; otherwise capped at fire mode max rate of fire for
fire modes 2 through 12.

The eyes on/off button is stuck down - the eyes are constantly turning on and off again, you need to clean out any dirt out from around the button..
