dm6 trouble :(

ok this is more for the dye techs out there my dm6 is having a few velocity problems
1. the first 2 shots usally wont fire (like first shot drop off but twice
2. the 3rd shot chrono'd at around 350 on sunday then resorted back to 270

any help would be great guys could do with this working for this sunday

Fresh battety.

Strip and clean both regs, flip over the reg seats if you do not have any spare ones.

god chris u must be joking i wouldnt want to touch the dm im ok with almost any other gun but i dont have a clue bout dm's

Another fresh battery.

Strip and clean your LPR, then reset it. (might need another turn in colder weather.)

Strip your bolt and replace inner top-hat and beer-can orings.


make sure your paint to bore match is correct.

this is now your best friend.

This is where the fun begins then....



If you recieved the allen keys with your gun, you have all that is needed for basic maintainance of your gun. The only other thing that you could require is a rod/screw threaded for 10/32, to help remove the brass reg seat retainers from the reg bodies in both HPR and LPR's.

You can have a browse round several websites to help you get a feel for the gun. www.dyematrix.com or www.matrixowner.com the latter has a complete disassembly thread for various dye guns including DM6's. Better than trawling thru all the junk on 'da nation' imo.

When you have read enough and feel confident in removing the LPR do not remove the larger of the two set screws beneath the body because that is a channel plug(everyone has done it at some time and you will know what I mean when you get there ).
