I've just secured a deal for a DM5, what are the essential upgrades for this beast?

Also what air system would go nicely with it?

Not alot really, they really are very good as-is.

If you were really looking to spend some cash on it I would say a Tadao THump board, Virtue chip or a NoX Chip in there.

Otherwise, I would leave it alone as other upgrades such as Evolve/Orange bolts can be sometimes more hassle than they are worth.

Just my 2p

if anything get a ultralite frame, they are the nuts, forget wasting money on aftermarket boards as the ultralite has it all and more. barrell wise all ya need is a couple of extra ultralite backs and your laughin.
there are no "essential" upgrades as such as these things mow straight outta the box

As others have allready said, have a look at a tadao chip or board.

The only bolt upgrade I'd recommend is the hybrid ebg bolt guide, you can field strip the bolt and it has a efficiency "ring" (just a fancier top hat tape mod).

On Barrells just get a decent big bore barrell most of the kits are ok but because the DM uses such a low pressure on the bolt if the fit is too tight it won't shoot.

I wouldn't get any upgrades until you have got it and shoot it for a few sessions... then at least you can work out what you need to improve youself instead of going on hearsay. They mow out the box and it just depends wether you like the trigger and other aspects of the set-up.

Edit: Air system wise, go CrossFire, best in the biz
