Theres heaps more you can do on a DM5 than a proto....
Protos are alot lighter mind but you need to spend the wonga to get them up to scratch- ie no clamping feedneck or ASA, and alot don't like the DM4 triggers on them - DMS are easier to get ramp ready than the Proto's also
Whilst the DM5 have all the above as standard - I know there a little iffy but the on/off are a nice touch - im also a DM fan so i'd say the DM5
I would say proto. Never been too much of a fan of the newer matrix markers, but a coach has a proto with tadao in, and its mighty quick and light. The lower price really shouldnt put you off, they are bargains!
proto for sure: lighter, cheaper, quicker (in my opinion) and smaller. iv shot both and have to say i liked the proto more, dm's are SO top heavy (agen in my opinion).
I have the DMC which is just the same as the dm5 but slightly lighter , bear in mind all the matrixs are a higher maintainance marker mainly the greese ?O rings on the bolt keep on top of them and this marker will serve you well.
I just love the dmc /5 because its ao quiet and doesnt smash paint , these guns could shoot raw eggs without breaking the shells
which ever you decide to buy i suppose its all down to personell preference and the affordability, all the advice on this thread is excellent
