Hey, Just a silly little question

I was shooting the DM5 yesterday (thanks to ash @ dye) and didnt really see much drop off at high rates (semi).

But jsut now decided to shoot some paint in the back garden, after cleaning the whole gun down. But i noticed quite a bit of drop off at high rates.

What things to i need to alter to stop this?

thanks.

Not entirely sure, but maybe raise the dwell setting? Are you using a LP reg on your bottle? That could be a contributing factor as the 450psi allows less room for recharge rates.

Up the dwell a little and also back the LPR out 1/2-1 turn and see if it improves. In the cold weather it is likely to need a slightly higher pressure to keep the bolt moving freely. Also make sure the bolt is well-lubed with Dow-33.

Hi

First thing, try upping the dwell a little bit. Stock on a DM5 board is 15, so try moving it up to 18. The LPR setting sounds fine. I rarely recommend running any DYE/Proto markers above the stock LPR setting. Other thing to check is that the bolt sail is making a good seal with the cylinder, if it too loose a fit, then the air which catches in the sail to move to the bolt will blow past the sail instead, causing a sloppy, incomplete cycle (hence the drop off) and poor efficiency.

There is an outside chance that the Hyper-reg might need re-lubing if it has never been done before (the gun is 3 years old now..) or more likely, the reg seat will probably just need replacing in either the Hyper-reg or LPR.

Was this the DM5 I serviced recently? Check the RA form that was returned with the gun to see what work was done, as this will rule out those contributing factors.

If you need any more assistance, PM or e-mail me, eurotech@dyeprecision.com

Thanks
