Dm4

I'm not in the UK, but I had an opportunity to use one yesterday and it was an amazing gun. It was pretty light and had virtually no kick whatsoever. It was a fast gun, but nothing that was really special. Of course, it never chopped because of the eyes. Best of all, it makes the coolest sound I've ever heard from a paintball gun, just like other matrices. It was the first matrix I've ever shot so I can't compare it to other ones, but after talking to the guy who owned it and looking at the bolt assembly it seemed simple to use and maintain. All in all, if I had the money to spend a DM4 would be very high on my list.

Try stongle on these boards. He ->previously<- owned one, but sold it for a timmy or 2 i believe. Cant remember, but think he had some problems with it. Care to take over Glen (stongle)! ;)

As noted, they are light, have low recoil, don't chop much, make a cool sound, are easy to maintain, and cost a lot.

They have long term issues with the membrane pad that contains the eye toggle and on-off.

They are not always very efficient, though a friend of mine gets a good 9 pods + hopper on a 45k/68 ci tank.

I disagree with the "nothing special" statement, I really like the feel of a Dm4. That is down to preference, of course.

The earlier released Dm4s apparently had lots of issues. These seem to be cleared up in the more recently manufactured guns.

There is some issue about the lack of a diode on the board which would prevent voltage spikes to the solenoid. The main deleterious result of this flaw is that the batteries run down faster than they would otherwise. If you are handy, you could easily solder in this diode yourself.

Evolve is apparently working on an aftermarket bolt kit. If it is anything like the kit they made for the older style Matrix, it will be worth the money for the efficiency improvement.

Honest Injun, that's what I know/ think.

I really liked the Dm4, it was fast, accurate, and limited enough to be regarded as exclusive. They’re pretty much the same as NYX Matrices, but in a differently milled body.

The only problems I had with the marker itself, was due to my extreme technical ineptness. The gun requires cleaning down and careful maintenance, including battery replacement. As soon as the battery starts to die the gun displays very odd symptoms. Replace the battery and all is good.

At the PA Cup, the guns first tournament outing, it played 18 games as I had to lend to another team, without chopping a ball once, it’s also played several X-ball matches again without incident, and that can be a lot of points and turnarounds.

I was extremely impressed, but it is a gun that requires a bit of technical savvy, I took the bolt out once and I had no idea what to do with all the pieces  that saying I’m with Gyro, they do have a bit of a special feel about them so go on treat yourself.
