Mooching round the 50, with the flag
Hi folks whilst playing at wycombe on sunday my DM4 was breaking and chopping like it was going out of fashion. Was using DXS recsport.

I have the dwell at 16 and was running it off a LP bottle with a reloader b, marker was chrono'd at 290fps +/- 5-6

any Suggestions on where I should be looking?

are you sure it was chopping, and not barrel breaks? any leaks on the bolt?

a std UL is .688 so maybe too small a bore, then as things got clogged it started to chop.

was it cold? and where do you have you LPR set at?

Lpr has been left as it was when I bought it, was about 8C, I've used it before with the same settings in very similar temps, one thing I did forget was checking the paint to bore. Once it started chopping I guess the damge was done...

Hi

Assuming that this isnt simply a paint/barrel mis-match, see below.

Try increasing your dwell a little, maybe up to 19 or 20.
Check your LPR pressure, stock is 5 turns, depending on what yours is set to, you may want to lower it a little but I would not recommend going to less that 3.5 turns.
Also, check that the bolt o-rings are in good condition and that the bolt moves smoothly.
In particular, check both 017 o-rings and the 015 bolt sail.

Given that it is a DM4, it may well be time to service the regs, check the 'seat' in both the LPR and the Hyper2 does not have a deep circular groove in it, you will need to replace it if it does.

If you need any more help, PM or e-mail me; eurotech@dyeprecision.com

Thanks
