Was shooting a mates Ego 06 at the weekend and was amazed at how straight and true it shot. The distance it was popping off to before the ball started dropping off was astounding. I'm now thinking of putting the Dynasty into the spare cabinet and investing in an Ego. Am quite taken by the DM's though and was trying to get an opinion from anyone who's shot both to see if the DM's fire as straight and consistently flighted as the Ego's?

Cheers

Andy.

I'm umming and ahhring over the same decision. Whether or not to get a Proto/DM or an Ego. I love the way DMs shoot and feel and also they look fantastic. Aside from the Nexus (and maybe the Dark) I've never really been sold on the Ego's looks. What's tipping the balance toward the Ego is the masses of support and general ease of maintenance when compared to the Matrixes. Shame the Egos are a bit too common as muck these days, i'd like something a bit more unique...... Yay for SlothBall :D

Cleaning and lubing your bolt regularly and changing 0-rings when needed doesnt strike me as "high maintenance" just looking after you marker.

As for customer support.....

I never said it was high maintenance... just the ego is generally simpler and that there are a heck of a lot of other people out there to help or buy spares off. The newer matrixes just dont really have the foothold over here that they do in the states which is a bit disapointing as they really are great performers.

i had an ego and a dm 4 and 5 and now a dm6 both are great markers but at the end of the day its always down to
1 CASH
2 PERSONAL PREFERENCE

and as for dms being maintence intensive my arse
lube and orings as much as other top end markers
and i should know as my technical ability with markers stops at level 7 automags.the dm has a great manual as does the ego and both have great aftermarket support
so my opinion is

SHOOT AND CHOOSE;)

Have to agree with Jeff.
I sold my Ego and bought a DM, i was a bit concerned about the maintenance at first but i don't give it a second thought now. I found the Ego to be a little hard on the paint, the same paint goes through the DM with absolutely no problem at all. My Ego also had more of a kick than the DM when ramping kicked in.
Both great markers but my vote is certainly with the DM.

DM6 :)

I havnt shot an 06 Ego but I have shot an 05. Both are very nice guns. The Ego does have more of a flatter shot than the dm, but once you have used either a for a while it makes no difference.

Though performance wise its the nuts, consistent, shoots really old hellfire in winter conditions :D and is VERY EASY to maintain.

The Ego I found was harder on paint but just as good! But again that could also be down to the settings :)

Hope that helps :)
