went to a wood site walk on day yesterday and the paint used was all dimpled and about 75% of shots just bounced rather than broke on impact can anyone tell me if this was because it was cheap paint or poor storage or what the cause may have been thanks trigg

Probably best taking up this issue with the site itself.

But bad paint can be due to many reasons main ones can be:
- Weather , too hot too cold.
- Storage, not rotated, stored for a prolonged period of time.

walk on/site paint/punter paint
is usually a harder shell anyway, I'm not really sure why, but it's known as rec-paint. this could be one of the reasons you were experienced paint bounce issues.

Ok few reasons for the paint problems and few points on storage.

1) Site balls are built to have a lower burst rate. Sites would never make a living if the paint burst everytime. Newbies would also be out a lot easier making it less fun.

2) Tippmans and Infernos that are normal site guns are not as soft on a paintball as electronic guns (well not normally)

3) Dimples are normally due to bad storage, cold temperature. Sites should have a warm room for paintball storage during the winter. If your paint is in stock for a while the boxes do need rotated to stop flat spots.

4) If you buy your own balls open the boxes and rotate the bags a couple of times a day to keep really sweet. If box is open then storage at normal room temp is ok for them. Just remember a box is good insulation so an open box will let the temperature inside the box reach the same as room temp.

5) No point in buying bulk paintballs and taking them to site if your going to keep them in the cold for a few hours as you'll have done the same as the site has. Taken from warm into the cold ! Flametec bags are good for storage or if you want something a little cheaper get a heated picnic bag from Halfords (I think that is where friend got his).

6) The paintballs could have been a dodgy batch or just a **** brand.

cheers for that, they where stinger balls and i think i will not bother buying in bulk seams a bit to much of a hassle just to save a few quid would rather spend more on quality paint thanks again for the info
