A drop forward moves a co2 or air tank furthur forward so that the markers not so long and fits into your sholder better when firing.

A cradel *I think* is where a co2/air bottle screws into and then thats attached to your marker  Think there called bottom lines for co2 :)

Both move the tank forward and down from the gripframe. The way I usually explain it is:

The cradle has a rail system that you can attach either a tank that includes a rail-mount (Apocalypse, Flatline, etc) or a screw-in adapter (duckbill).

A Drop forward has a screw-in adapter built in, such as the one that comes with stock Autocockers.

Shamu,

A "drop forward" is a fixed bar attaching to the bottom of the grip frame that moves the air system formard.

These have a slide fitting on the bottom that a variable output airsystem (angel a.i.r., flatline, etc) slides onto.

If you use a screw in type air system (pure energy, bulldog)
or CO2, then you need to slide a "Cradle" on to the drop forward that the airsystem screws into.

This is much like a standard bottom line fitting in function, but typically the cradles that many companies produce to accompany their drop forwards are nicer and bring the bottle out paralell to the gun, rather than at an angle.

hope this helps!! :)
