After what looked like it was going to be the wettest event of the year. Turned out to be one of the best UK none millennium event of the year. Shame the final game was not played but to the credit of campaign power they managed to share the podium with the Tigers.

Semi finals

Tigers vs shockwave
Campaign power vs Ecstasy

The atmosphere was great and most fields had a fairly large crowd watching each and every game. The final games were well attended (could have been due to no one could leave the car park) It was great atmosphere especially from a playing point of view being the Tiger player on crowd side of the smart parts field against shockwave there was one hell of an atmosphere.

I would like to thank all the marshals for the effort they put in you all worked hard and stuck by the decisions you made. Marshalling is the hardest aspect of paintball standing, staring, concentrating for 8+ hours and dealing with all manner of excuses and criticism from the players.

The Diablo cup was well organised apart from the unforeseeable odd hitch running very smoothly and was a credit to all involved in it especially John Payne.

I saw a lot of talent in new up and coming Am teams such as Kellys, K2, Campaign power and Ecstasy. There will be quite a battle next year for the top am spot in the UK. All 4 teams have come from relative obscurity unknown players with a few exceptions and there is a growing wealth of talent. Paintball is looking very promising, with a lots of young talent. More emerging then I have noticed in other European countries. I think its so important for teams like Kelly, K2, Ecstasy and both JCS teams to stay together and not let pro teams break you up as there is a lot of emerging talent its just experience holding you all back. “Great teams make great players” It is good for the future of paintball that you are all approachable and friendly.

Well done for reaching the final Campaign power after all we have grown up in the millennium series together and Pete has drunk your beer for 3 years now and u still fall for “let me tell u a story”.

Thanks to all for a great event

Cheers Ronnie. Its always a pleasure to spend time with you guys, on and off the field.

Pity we couldn't play due to the light. It would have been a great game I'm sure.

We are still putting the final touches on our field, (lights etc.) and we are sorting out definite dates for training. As soon as we finalise things we will be in touch.

Well played as always mate.

See you at the Wurzel Bash if not before.

Jeff
