By that do you mean the top team in each catagory in every division + the next 2 highest in catogory? So 8 teams from A , B , and C. Playing off in own catagories.

or

The top teams in each division , regardless of Catagory + next two highest? So only 8 teams of mixed Catagory playing off.

Only asking 'cus someone has said elsewhere , that last year it was like the first. And you could read your statement either way. Just trying to clear it up , thanks Jon.

Teams to qualify

There will be 8 Alpha teams, 8 Bravo teams and 8 Charlie teams. The winners of each category in each division and the two highest scoring teams from each category will go through.

Hmm, double the odds for Alpha & Bravo teams. They have 8 qualifying from a total of 12 each, whereas the Charlies have 8 qualifying from 24.
Note no axe to grind here, as I'm not going to even be there let alone playing.:(

Liz

Be fair now Liz, we are talking about a 48 team major UK event, playerd over 1 day, in November. The schedule is going to be tight enough as it is without introducing a requirement for 16 'C' teams to go through to the semis. Give Jon a break - its a tough enough job to fit that number of games in as it is. I know this makes it seem a little unfair on the 'C' classed teams but, think about it, all you have to do is win a handful of games and you're through - simple eh?

Just seemed a little unfair that they have to pay the same, for half the opportunity. Maybe 3 x B teams & 3 x C teams in each div would have been a little fairer?
As I said before, it won't affect me in any way as I can't go (sniff, sniff).:(

Liz,

Would you rather have less teams? I think you'll find it is harder to qualify in 'A' div due to the teams in that group - irrespective of the places available.
If you want to move up and play 'b' then maybe that is the incentive you need?

I keep on saying - I WON'T be there, I'm NOT playing, can't make the trip. I wasn't arguing on my behalf at all! Anyway, the teams didn't get to choose what category they play in, that was decided by Ledz I gather.

If you aren't going to be there, then why do you care? I am sorry, but if you aren't playing then you have nothing to bitch about. Look at the number of qualifying teams in a millenium . 8 pros out of somewhere around 20 40% go through 16 ams out of 35 45% go through 16 novs out of 60 26% go through. It is basically the same as a millenium. You might say well they pay a different entry fee in milleniums. That is because the prizes are different and according to Jon's first post, the prizes look about the same for all three divisions. So who is loosing out? The nov's always have a harder time going through due to the large number of teams. That is just the way it is. And the fact that you aren't even playing this event, makes me wonder why you would even comment.
