Deleting of Threads

We have recently had a number of requests from some members to have their threads deleted.

As some of the threads have over 40 posts contained within them, we will only delete a thread if there is a valid reason for doing so.

Well, you can.
Just use the edit button and whipe whatever you posted.

Yeah but that doesn't delete a thread, i wanted to make a new one about the concept fields without the crap at the start, doesn't matter now though, just woulda kept the thread a lil neater.

Sorry mate. Misunderstood you there for a second.

I see why you would want to delete stuff in the particular case you are referring to, however, I don't think it's good if regular posters can delete threads. That way, if someone starts a thread and gives his opinion, and someone happens to disagree with him, the thread starter could always just delete the thread, should the discussion 'turn against him'. Which, I think, would defeat the purpose of forums like these.

Just my opinion.
