The Aedes relied on the MQ valve to work i believe, and as far as i know PBX (MQ manufacturer) has gone under.

I thought I heard something about NPS buying the patent for the MQ valve, but i'm most likely wrong.

was it the same mq valve, surely the cocker one would only work for cockers, not for an open bolt gun.

The MQ valve in production was used by cockers initially, but there was a Mag version prototyped/tested, and the principle could be adapted to other poppet valve (and some non poppet) guns.

I know that the Aedes definately used an MQ-based valve design, but whether it was a modified off-the-shelf cocker valve or not, I don't know.

This all happened some months ago so i'm a little hazy on it.

I was really excited about this marker when I heard about too, but I don't think it's ever going to be a mass-produced item. It used the MQ valve, or at least a modified version of one, and the problem that arises there is that, even though PBX is gone, they still have the MQ patented, so in order to sell a gun for profit that was based on that design, you'd have to license it from them or buy the patent. Of course, being out of business, I'm not sure how prepared they would be to spend the money going to court to defend the patent. It's not really surprising though, Deadly Wind has this habit of coming up with really awesome ideas that never end up making it into full production.
