Damaged thread on Reg burst disk

In my usual cak handed manner I have managed to damage the thread both on the reg itself and the screw fitting that holds one of the burst disk on my Pure Energy 4500 reg.

I have tried all the usual tricks like PFTE tape (or whatever its called) and some Loctite stuff for sealing but there is still a small leak coming from the area.

Although it not a big leak and does not effect the perfornce of the marker I would like to get it sorted out.

Any ideas?

Is it possible to get the threads re drilled and if so would that not make the hole larger which would then mean my screw fitting would not fit?

Help !!!!!!!

Thanks

Exactly..

You could get it re-tapped, but as you said that would change the size of the hole. The only think I can think of it to replace the screw in part (not sure of the technical term for it) and see if that helps.

Failing that, I've got some really good Industrial pipe sealer (used on high pressure gas pipes) that might do it.

you could get it rethreaded bigger, and then insert a liner threaded inside and out to chage it back to the origanel size thread . a decent engineering firm should be able to do it;)

I think I'm sorted, thanks mate, they are just waiting for the high pressure burst disk fittings tocome back in stock (hopefully today) and then they are going to send a couple out for me, this should sort the problem once and for all!

Not sure how much they are but its got to be cheaper than buying a full reg!!!

Thanks a lot for your help anyway

i agree with "le pig", you can get an insert, that once youve drilled the origional hole slightly larger, you can insert it and return it to its origional thread size. i think they call it heli-coil.
this would also mean that you could use the origional size "bolt" even though your gonna have to buy a new one if youve stripped the thread on that aswell.
however, on another note, i would be very careful using ptfe tape on a reg system, cos if just the slightest bit comes lose and enters the reg your in troulble.

hope im being helpful, and not talking about a problem which is already fixed.
