Cutting egg feedneck

Okay, i dont want to screw this up, i just want to lower the lenght of the feedneck.
So is cutting with a saw and then sanding down smooth sound okay?

Sounds fine mate, just be careful as they can be quite fragile

you have to make sure you cut the right length of tho or the balls will not line up with the eyes,i have a link some place with loads of egg mods if you want it,should tell you how to do it step by step on there

if your dead worried about it, wrap it with some masking tape around the feedneck. That should stop all splintering, if there was any in the first place.

Yes it would..also, the likelyhood of slipping, and cutting off your bitsm while holding it in your lap (whichis where all people hold loaders when working on them, obviously)...is very much increased.

Try a hot knife..at least that way you can melt through teh plastic where you want to, and if you cut yourself, it will cauterise straight away.

i used a fine toothed hacksaw for my egg,
and some fine sandpaper.
and didnt have any bother...

EDIT :- owever.. dont rush it, when you cut through the first half, there is a slight possibility of splintering the second half slightly..

Just take teh neck out...and take it apart (its two halves) then do it.
If you cut of .68 inches it will be lower and cant possibly cock up teh eyes.

Done it, worked perfect, no splintering at all as i put some duck tape around the neck and then sanded smooth
When used there was no problem with the eyes that i could reconigse, it fed normal and just gave me a lower profiled gat.
