im guessing alot of people have done this and will know through trial and error the best way of doing so.

im gonna be using a small hacksaw and was wondering if i should tape the feedneck to stop cracking and the like? this is just a precaution thread.. nothing better than experience if ya ask me :)

+ im not going to affect the hoppers productivity by cutting down the stack?

many thanks

Dave

i dont own a velocity but i cut my halo down and i taped it to stop it craching and so the cut will be neat

but think about cutting it by ball sizes lengths or it will screw up the eyes and it may make it see gaps rather than balls

I've cut both mine down, the official word from Viewloader is that it won't affect performance as the Vlocity has two sets of eyes and reads movement of the stack rather than just looking for a gap. It can be a problem on Halos or Eggs if you end with the eyes looking at the point between two balls but on the Vlocity it doesn't seem to give any hassles and makes for a much lower profile. I use a pipe cutter like this;

http://www.toolcrew.co.uk/catalogue/Product-Details.jsp;jsessionid=80C4FBD01A82817E88D34B467B8F1FFA?p=1&ps=18&cID=466&search=&searchString=&cTitle=Tools&pID=798&pCode=AK5051&pTitle=Tube+Cutter+%d83-32mm

and take it very gently, just tightening the screw a little bit each time and letting the blade do the work to avoid stressing the plastic. The end result is a very neat and level cut and once you've bought the cutter it'll last for ever cutting hoppers and you can do all your friends' as well:)

cheers olly. im sure my dad has one of those things somewhere. any chance u can measure whats left of the feedneck for me? if yours is all fine and dandy then yours can be the benchmark for mine :)

many thanks again
