Hi,
When i fire the marker the paintballs only travel a few metres and do not break on anything, I thought perhaps maybe i need to set the velocity higher? ( havent touched anything its all at factory setttings )

This is my first paintball marker so there's every possibility i could be doing something wrong, though its all brand new so should be in good working order.

Ive got Crossover XVR, ninjaprov2 reg with a Dye4500 tank.

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Noob,
you´re right normal factory Setting should be 280-300fps (not in Germany, the law say max. 214fps) so i think something other would be the Problem:

1.Your HPA Tank is full (1000psi+ on the scale, isn´t accurate often)
2. Have you screwed in the HPA Tank into the (A)ir(S)upply(A)dapter till it wont go deeper. If it´s not screwed in max. it could be that the pin which opens the Reg. on the tank wont open complete so you got very low pressure. Also could be that you turned the On/Off not much enough so you got the sam Problem like screw tank not deep enough.
3. May your Reg. on the marker is screwed down by someone, it´s a normal use to adjust the velocity each gameday.

;)

Hello :)
1. Definitely, just had it filled and is over the 3k mark ( As much as i could get it filled without travelling too far )
2. Both are as tight as possible
3. Didnt understand what you meant by this

One thing that i did notice was that the paint was often falling out of the barrel when not being fired and 'sometimes' two would come out at once after a single shot.
The paint was just some nasty stuff i had left over from the last public day i went to at my local field, seems abit small, maybe?

OK !

to 3. May the guy in the factory set it very low pressure or the dealer played with the Reg. adjustment screw so that´s why it´s very low fps, perhabs !?!?!? You don´t do something wrong by using the set screw for adjusting the velocity, start with low pressure and 1/4 turn each shoot till you reached the fps you want.

The balls must be very small or like egg´s that the ball detent wont stop them. May the detent is damaged !?!? (should not cause it´s new marker)

Having looked at the various sizes on the internet, i think i may of possibly been trying to use 0.43 caliber paintballs. When i used the site i remember thinking the paint seemed incredibly small compared to what i was used to.They seem smaller than the detent you speak of too.

And i imagine, being too small, there's not enough pressure behind it to send it very far?

Well, n00b lesson 101. Use the right paint :/

Certainly at least i should get some decent .68 and see what happens

Ok, try Cal.68 Paint. ;)
You loose alot of air(fps) if the paint is just Cal. 43(used in RAM Markers) or 50(industry try to have something new on market, but this is dead, 68 is the best size) and have a 68 Barrel, breach, Hopper etc.

No Problem as Long you keep on learning !!! (y)
