Did anyone see crime scene investigations last night?

One of the suspects (not the criminal mad man) was a paintballer so the scene of crime team go to the paintball site where this kid plays walk through a game with no masks and accost said kid who gets shot as they approach yanks his mask off and walks down to 'em. Thats bad enough but you would have thought they would have the sense to net off area's with goggle less people from the game going on, as the kid approaches the investigators a paint ball can be seen flying past his head AT HEAD HEIGHT. This had to have been shot at a site in California as that is where the program is set.

So people what do you think?

When the mole was shot the captain of the team went to great pains to explain their was no danger as masks were worn at all times by people in front of the markers, what about this?
Can their be an excuse for such banal stupidity?
or was it safer than it looked?

I certainly noticed that section of the program and was appalled by it,pottering around a site without goggles with a load of trigger happy folk running around ......NO GOGGLES!!

NO-one would be allowed out of a safe area without them...what were the producers of the show thinking of

Does this mean that Yank coppers are imune to being blinded??

The show producers need a damn good thrashing with a stout stick for portraying that image to the general public, there are already enough probs with customers ignoring marshalls and removing goggles on the field without some program that is supposed to be accurate in things it deals with showing this kind of cr*p..

I can tell you that yank coppers are not immune to being blinded. Yank coppers aren't anything like you see on TV. That's why those types of shows are our comedy.;)

Mother, is that you?
Hey geezers. I reckon the only people watching that show who would notice the goggles etc would be paintballers. I guess it happens all over, coppers pissing em self at the Bill, doctors watching ER, Brickies watching Bob the Builder.

All publicity gratefully welcomed.

just to clarify, not intended as a flame, CSI is set in Las Vegas, and mostly filmed around there. as a fan of the show, i was disappointed because they usually make efforts to make the shows realistic.

Thanks for the clarification KC I wasn't sure what the location was cos I am only an occasional watcher (shifts suck) (but the bonus don't:D ) I thought that when they found Paint on the statuette that was a little far fetched, I mean what type of baller still has paint on his Ordinary clothes three days after an event?
Kardasz do you know anyone like that? Walker maybe?:D ;) :D

Yeah, I mentioned this in the x-fire thread I think: "I recorded CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) on Channel 5 on Sat. night and watched it last night, there was this killing at a Buddhist monastry and some paint was found smeared on one of the statues. Well, they scrape it and test it - their conclusion, hmmm.....water soluble....non toxic - Definitely paintball paint!! (Yeah, like there's no other paint you can get that is non-toxic and water soluble! Pah, whatever ) Anyway - they go to the paintball site to pick up their suspect, now this is in LA and their all wearing sun glasses and it's a gorgeous day - all 3 CSI agents just stroll into the middle of a huuuge paintball firefight! Not a care in the world! They find their man, who promptly stops surprised, get's shot, so proceeds to take his goggles off and stroll through about 7 lines of fire to go and chat with the agents on the sidelines behind no protection ! Jeeze! I can't believe the site let them even film that!"

I agree mate - but then again, I could imagine that some of the paintball sites in the states are just like that anyway. I don't know how they were allowed to film that and why they didn't just use common sense!

Ajem mate, read my post... it doesn't matter. They could have gone in dressed as elephants in bikinis.

What? Are people going to go 'that paintball looks dangerous, look none of em have got goggles and in the rules it says blah blah blah'. Nup, they say, hey paintball... I'll have a go at that'.

I say, hats off to the site. Well done.

Rancid, I actually agree with you!
People who don't play will not know about the dangers of goggleless paintball. They don't know that a 300fps shot to the eye will make some nice eye/shell/fill smudge out of a perfectly good eyeball.
As we say in Holland: Het maakt niet uit wat ze over me lullen, als ze maar over me lullen! (translation: It don't matter what they say about me, as long as they talk about me)

PS are you still being stalked by the person who shall remain nameless, but who's name rhymes with ......er....... mice(s)?
