United States......BITCHES!
Hey guys, Im just really curious. I wanna know what a cricket board is? I know Smart Parts puts them on their Impulses, and I know they got their name from their trademark "chirping" sound, but what the hell does it do? How does it make your Impulse better? Thx

Cricket Board
The Cricket Board from Smart Parts will fit into any Impulse. Available as a standard Impulse board or as a Vision Impulse board. Features include:

-push button on/off
-voltage regulator to your solenoid
-push button dwell up and down
-digital 'eye' that is not affected by different coloured paints

hope that helps

It only makes it better if your impulse doesn't already have one. There are two main identifying features of the cricket-board: the chirping sound is one, and the flashing blue LED at the back is the other.

The cricket is available as vision or non-vision if I remember, though you'd be mad not to have vision nowadays (unless you bought a REALLY old impy, which can't be drilled for vision).

The main difference that you'd notice (if you have fast fingers) is the rate of fire - I won't post exact numbers because everybody claims different, but the ballpark figures are *something* like 17bps and 25bps. There are also subtle differences to the way dwell is set, the vision paint detecting system, etc etc. All good. General rule of thumb, if u can get hold of a cricket for not a lot more money, then do. :D

If you want more info then either do a search on here for "cricket", or look it up on www.impulseownersgroup.com - loads of useful information on impies there!
