Well it wouldnt haver been round 1 without some mud
Gotta love mother nature, just when ya think you have done everything to prepare for the weekend she strikes and poo poo's on ya
Thanks to all the teams for the understanding of the hiccups, conditions and well done for the general level of fair play and sportsmanship
There were a few hiccups so i feel this event although it has had a great level of positive feed back from you guys, i feel it was not the usual standard of a CPPS event. There are many reasons and excuses but all i will say is these will be ironed out for round 2.....and i acept all the issues were directly related to me so i apologise now.
Many thanks to my reffing crew, with some new additions to the ranks you all worked great and even with a few hiccups we recovered the day so thankyou for your hard work.
On a negative note i would like to make a statement on behalf of one of my head refs.
Some may have read Simon's post about an incident. I have discussed the issue with Andy and he reasures me there is no personal issue from him. I do however wish to point out that the issues are directly linked back to me as i failed to brief Andy properly, resulting in a score sheet **** up that would normally have been picked up imediately had i done my job. This resulted in eveil saints being placed in the wrong group and the outcome of them actually finishing 5th instead of having a shot at finishing in the A group. This was adjusted by a sporting act from Warped as they had been placed in the A group as a result of the **** up instead of Evil Saints. Both parties agreed a score swap and as it has little or no effect on the surrounding teams directly i reluctantly agreed.
It has also brought to my attention last night that a call Andy made on a 3-4-1 penalty in another Evil Saints match was done so after contacting me to confirm a rule check which i seemed to have got wrong. The outcome should have been a 2-4-1 as it was still a penalty situation.
I have spoken to both parties and now the outcome has been resolved i consider the matter closed. Andy is a very good ref for me and Simon/Evil Saints have been a very loyal team from day one. We have taken steps to avoid future clashes of personalities
Talking of staff i wanna give a massive shout out to my day staff and set up staff. They all worked there arse off the weekes leading to the events to re build the site after mother nature again tried to kill us! So thankyou to the B-Temper clan, Disruption, Big Nick, Little Nick, James, Edwards, Gem, Deb, Becks, DJ Jimmy and Frankie on the Rockstar tent and the local Adventure Scouts group on clean up. Without you id just be a bigger jibbering mess in a cow field than i was sunday
Last but not least thanks to the Vendors for braving the situation, the Caterers Sparkie and Co and Lee and Trish on the hog roast.
Again apologies for the mistakes, it will be sorted for round 2 and we have also taken on board your suggestions and tweaks which will be implemented where possible.
Scores will be up Wed night as im off to the UKPSF Trade conference.
Rich.
