As a new team to CPPS Breakout (Team Unlimited 2), can someone please explain the points scoring system i.e. how does the points scored on each leg equate to the divisional scores and totals.

I've searched but cant seem to find any info.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

If you click on OKPB# results on your search bar, then click 2016 you will see your div and the events to date ,3. your team have done 2,scored 60 and 64,for 10th and 9th places. The final position is a total you will see ,124,putting you in 9th place. Ainsley's results service is the best in this country and as good as anywhere I've seen .To see the points spread ,just look at the positions and points allocated .9th is not a bad start.Remember getting to your primary ,communicating and learning to play a field isn't measurable but will improve every round .Most importantly you have fun ,and as they say ,you can't measure pleasure !

Hi - yes I understand and have seen all the brilliant results service Ainsley and the team are producing - what I could not fathom is how the points are awarded based upon your result - i.e 100 for First down to 60 for 10th - but I think I've got it now.
My brain did not compute it was always a fixed score based on your result. i.e it can be a low scoring win wise event and you still get 100 point for first.

I understand it now. Cheers.

Hi Colin - you have probably figured this out, but you need to win games and have upwards of 3 guys alive after each to get a good point spread.

That's 5 man in Breakout then. Blimey did'nt realise anyone still played that. Watched R2 for so long now .Remember they tried to revive at Mills but flopped. Actually a complicated thing to play for newbie teams. But as it's 1leg ,low cost ,you have to find some way of scoring in detail ,a single game.

Breakin, breakout and division 5 are in the 5 man format

Edited for the draw clarification from Matt on page 2

Scoring for the games is 3 points for a win, 0 for a loss, 1 each for a draw

Plus the players status at the end of each game is recorded, (elimination difference), add up all your live players and deduct all the oppositions live players

Then with the day's results you are likely to see a couple of teams clearly at the top and at the bottom who have had a high number of wins or a high number of losses
But inbetween you will see the majority with an equal number of wins, but tiebreakers on their position based on the live/elimination ratio

The tactic then is to not just aim for getting to the buzzer/gate, but to look around and try to clear the field eliminating all 5 of the opposing team.

Eg if it ends up 1 on 1 and it's a sprint to the gate then the winner gets 3 points for the win and a net zero because an opposition player is live. If the 1 on 1 finishes with a shootout and then the winning live player takes the gate with 3 points for the win, but at least has +1 on the next column for being live and eliminating the other team

Win with equal players live on each side = 3/0 0/0 (you've won a game but on the overall table there's no advantage)
Win with 1 live player on the winning side = 3/1 0/-1
win with all your players live and all theirs
eliminated = 3/5 0/-5 (you have a good win, and an advantage on placing up the board)

In 5 man the players on field at the end are looked over by the referees to confirm they are clean and live

In race format only the player that took the buzzer is checked

Check over the wpbo rule book and take into account the higher level rules, the big change from 5 man to race is the need to be ready to turnaround as race is not decided in one game, don't do well on your first go and you have a second chance, in 5 man you have one chance

Pit discipline is not as essential in 5 man as you have time between games. But start as you mean to go on and ensure every player fills air, replenishes paint and cleans off as priority when coming off field (and check they are still clean before going back on - splatter through the nets are a risk depending on position)
If you're lucky enough to have enough hands to run a pit crew then put them in charge off field. It ensures your players are ready in 5 man, even if it means waiting - but they aren't wandering off socializing and then rushing for the next game
And more importantly it readies the team for jumping ahead of breakout / breakin and potentially skipping div 5 straight to 4

Hi Colin

On the day, it's 3 points for a win and body count is used as "goal difference" and this gives your overall position in the division for the round.

For the season rankings, first place gets 100 and each team below gets 4/6 (ish?) points less, with a larger difference for the podium spots to reward them.

Remember to play to your strengths and make the most of your breakshooting skills :)

Thanks to all for the comments.

Cheers Tom - good advice - with I'll ensure the Breakout team absorbs the info.

Our Div 5 Squad might go into Race format next season - depending upon league placing and confidence - so we'll look forward to learning that format.

Rob you are right - 1st to 2nd is 6 points, 2nd to 3rd is 6 points all the other placings are 4 points difference.

Regards
Colin.

The point about having your next 5 waiting to go in the pits is really important even if it is a long wait I have seen quite a few teams either start players down or totally miss the start entirely all because they wandered off.
