Hi Guys, I'm after a bit of advice on the bottle life I have on my collection. All bottles are to UK standard and at the moment all in test date.

1. 1.1 ltr 4500psi HSE-AL-FW2 (possible aluminium wrapped bottle), born 08/2000 End 07/2015. 15 year life.
2. 0.7ltr 4500 psi Luxfer (Evil bottle) born 10/2004 End 10/2019. 15 year life.
3. 1.1 ltr 4500psi Luxfer (Guerrilla) born 12/2009 End 12/2024 15 year life.
4. 1.1 ltr 4500psi Luxfer (Guerrilla) born 05/2009 no marked end date.

Is it still the law that all bottles of the type I own have a 15 year total life and during that life they need to pass 2 hydro tests and professional visual inspection.

When sending a bottle to a testing place would you send with the regulator removed or with the regulator fitted but bottle discharged?

Bottles normally need a test every 5 years. Also when I have had mine tested i have always removed the regs and sent without.

Lips do offer a testing service so if you need to test then contact Jon or Chris. I thing its about £30.00 per bottle for a test.

Ok, so nothing has changed, its just the newest bottle saved a penny by not adding an end date.

I've got one to send off next year and I might give them a call. :)

Quick reply, search the forum for hpa1 and you will find links to the UKPSF air safety document

Be aware of different carrier policies on posting cylinders, again search the forum for some info

I'm wary of the one you have without an expiry date. For fibre wraps the maximum is normally 15 years, but for some can be 10
I'm only aware of Aluminiums & steelies at 3000psi with no final date

Check the standard classification as to whether it fits into one of the published standards on the hpa1
