Hi guys

Due to bordem ive been toying with the idea of making the Vibe lighter.
i have removed the composite body and put the board back on and used rubber 9v battery connector covers to space out the banjo fitting fromthe grip frame so the button sits where it would be with the body on.

its alot lighter but its left with a 1/8 inch gap which is what the old composite bodywould have filled up...
would be cool if someone could make a aluminium piece to fill that and have it come up and over to cover the detents and have a lip to accomodate a clamping feedneck such as a planet eclipse one (bolt on).

i have PM'd Gommie about this just to see if it would be possible

in my head i think this could be done lol!

heres some pic for you to look at !
the full picture of what it sort of would look like

close up of the gap but you can see the button is spot on where it should be

banjo with and without rubber spacer ... obviously this would have to be made of plastic

i think also if the detents were made accessable would be cool aswell .
like use a plug screw either side to hold them in but if you need to change them just whip the plug screw out ( similar to what is used on ASA's to plug the holes up)

what you will ideally need is a drawing of what u want made, why dont you use the composite body as a template :)

Er.. hi bud,,, i think all you have done ,, is make a wasps nest full of problems,,,
The weight of the plastic body is what,, may be two or three fags in weight,,,, by the time you have a allloy spacer,, your be back to the same weight,,

if you really want to save weight,,, lose the ASA,, machine rails into the bottom of your trigger frame,, so your trigger frame becomes your ASA,,
use a carbon fiber barrel,,,

all your going to end up with here is a lot of problems,,,

and theres no problem with weight is a gun or marker has a perfect balance,, in fact balance is more important than weight,,,

if i was you.. i would just refit the plastic body and go play,, before you end up with paint all over the board,,

But adding a sideways look,,,, to make a alloy rail/block to do what you want by hand on a mill and lathe is not going to be cheap...in my day job i charge up to 200 pound a hour for hand machine work,,

now as most of you know,, i dont charge that for paintball stuff,,, but im just letting you know what your getting into,,
and we have not even got to the billit block of alloy your going to need to buy to make all the parts out of yet,,
how ever,, we could machine away half of the plastic body that it came with,,, to get the same results,,
and it would be lighter than using metal,,,
and you say this is the point of what your doing here,,

or you could buy one of the dealy wind alloy mil sim bodys and then we could machine away all the metal to leave you with what you want,, how ever,,

the deadly wind body after import will be around the 80 quid mark
then a fee of about 40 quid for the milling ,, then post back,,, so your still looking at over 100 quid,,

this would be the most cheapist way of doing it,, but your still not losing any weight,,

id say lets start with the plastic one first,, you all ready have that dont you..

your need to send me the hole marker,, i will be moving into my new workshop in the new year..

let me know ,,

what kind of buget do you have,,,

I picked this vibe up for £20 on here off A.Kaye just before xmas .. and i just wanna have a play around with it to make it look different

could its possibly be fitted into one of the other deadlywind BoB bodies ?? they are on ale for $40 at the min.. or is the milsim one the only one that would work for machining purposes?

if not i do have the plastic body ..

i can make any thing fit any thing bud,, no worries,, but can you pay for the work,, to mill all that excess metal off will take some time,

but the alloy will be more heavy than the plastic,, and you started with,, want to make lighter,,
I have just got my hands on some vibe stuff,, and in with that was a body kit,,,, now also remeber if you expose the detents,, every time you fire they will just fall out of the side of the breach,,as the plastic body is what hold the detents in place,, also ,, the vibe breach has no thread for the feed neck,, the thread is in the body,,

as for DEADLY WIND,,< i just love that name > yes there bodys are 40 dollers,, then shipping then import tax,,, your be looking at 60 to 70 quid by the time it hits the uk,,
i do have bodys here some where,,if you want one i will have a look see as to what i have,, but there nice bodys,, seems a shame to remove all the body work,< milling >, to just have a spacer and a feed neck holder when you all ready have that on your standard body?

you need to take a step back and have a long hard think about what you want,,as once its done theres no going back,,,, well there is,,if you want..

I've got the perfect light weight cheap solution if the only function is to cover that gap, duct tape. Sorry noticed you wanted to hold a feed neck on as well, more duct tape.
