Hi everyone!

I've played paintball a few times before and really enjoyed it. I'm looking for a new sport to get into and really fancy paintballing. None of my friends have the time so I'm really looking for new people to get into a group with.

My question is are there any groups in the southampton area?

Should I just go to a local paintballing company and just play on my own?

The only problem I have with the second question is that when I've played before it's usually just birthdays or stag/hen party's that's play as a one off.

Any info is appreciated!

Hi Ryan, welcome to paintball :), most of us started like you, what you want is a Walkon, I believe ambush paintball in Southampton do a walkon , where you can go on your own or with friends etc.
I wrote a thread about my experience as a noobie on here, should answer a few questions :)

first and foremost......get yourself a good mask, safety and vision is important, get yourself along to a local store (if there are any) or a walkon/local site and ask to try different ones on, it's all about personal preference and what suits you not what someone tells you.
you could get a second hand mask as a lot of the guys on here will help you out if you need it, or get online or down to a paintball store and buy new, its your choice.

There's also a round of the superfives tournament at ambush this weekend. PM Kitch on here and I'm sure he wouldn't mind you coming to watch, and you'd be welcome to try on masks and have a few shots over the chrono with my kit to give you some idea of what to look for.

I noticed a lot of people mentioning that most sites use air now instead of co2. I work in the docks and was wondering would i be able to fill my own bottles with oxygen if the correct tanks?
