I've heard that if you get a aftermarket valve such as the Rat or Tornado it is recommended that you get an aftermarket hammer. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Seeing as no one has any ideas, I guess I'l just have to put in an aftermarket hammer in- just in case.

I dont think you HAVE to use an aftermarket hammer. But if you are building a custom cocker why not just drop in a hammer kit anyway. AKALMP makes a hammer kit if you have the tornado. It will work with the rat too though. I think a hammer kit is a good idea becuz it gets maximum performance out of the valve.

Yea i think most of the hammers are heavier so you can run lower pressure. Plus they add a tad more of customization (damn im smart) to the marker.
If you're gonna change the hammer - shell out a bit more for a Rex kit (aka Sidewinder) from Belsales (probably Smart Parts in the US)...

Yeah, Belsales stuff is sold by SP in the US. A shocktech or AKA hammer kit would do nicely as well. As far as valves, I've heard nice things about the Rocket valve by Maddmann, and want to try the RED valve if I get the chance.
