Ok I have emailed AKALMP and Ravi Choper about this problem but have had no replies so you guys are my last hope.

I used to run my cocker direct off of my shocker 1.1 4500psi maxflow giving 300/350psi output. However my gun was being very gas hungry (I mean hopper and 2 pots from 3000psi fill). So I had a tornado valve installed and put a cocker sping pack into the maxflow, hopeing that the higher output (400/450psi) and lower operating pressure would sort things out. However, the gun is less gas hungry but not as efficiant as it should be and I can't find the optimum output pressure for the valve and velocity is very inconsistant (234-197-248fps) and won't go above 250fps. Also whenever the hammer hits the valve it makes a hollow clanging noise which didn't happen before I put the tornado valve in. The instuctions for the valve did say that it needed to be bedded but I have put over 5000 shots through it since I got the gun back.

So my questions to you guys are...(1) Could my airsystem be at fault (the velocity was inconsistant even before I put the cocker spring pack in)? (2) What could be wrong with the valve? and (3) Would it be easier to put my spare super charger valve in and use that?

Any other ideas of what could be wrong would be welcome.

Cheers,

Charlie.

1. When was your Air system last serviced?
2. Not sure if anything is wrong with the valve couls be down to springs!
3. maybe but tornedo valves are very good once set up properly!

Maybe a trip to Jack is in order??

Paul.

Paul the airsystem was apparently just serviced by the guy from K2 that I got it off when I bought it. I haven't done anything to the springs since I got it back off of the guy that put it in for me. One of my team mates can get it to Bell Sales so I will send it off to them after Campaign. 250fps is OK for know and being so close to Campaign I will just stick with that.

Thanks.

Hmmm....

I think you have got your springs completely ucked fup :)

First thing - I would go right back to the start and take out the valve and check the valve and main spring.

For a tornado, they should be relatively light but not ridiculously slow. If you have a set of springs then pick one up from the lightest of each.

put them back in, but not the grip frame. you should be able to see the hammer rest of the valve in the bottom of the frame, the hammer should be JUST (like very very slightly) opening the valve at rest with no air. Use the cocking rod to pull the hammer back and release it a few times and make sure it rest like that.

Now that clanging noise *might* be your Jam nut coming loose, that is very not good so you need to check it out as if it strips the body you gun is toast.

Once it's all back together, turn the Maxflow right down, very gradually turning it up. Don't be hung up on the output pressure just keeping edging it up until you get to the top of the chrono reading and before they go down again.

If you have the right springs then that should be about 280ish. If it's higher, change out for a lighter spring, if lower a heavier.

It sounds complicated but it really isn't, just time consuming. 2hrs and half a case of paint and you gun will be perfect I bet.

Oh, and if you have a Race I would make sure your dwell etc is OK.

Cheers Beaker. I am definately not a fiddle with things that I don't know kind of guy and I don't know cockers too well yet so I will try tosort out that jam nut thing and then send it off to Bellsales.
