i was just wondering if there was a site anywhere that listed some ballpark second hand cocker prices. i've been looking around for a cocker and found it really hard to work out ifthe price people want is fair or not (flash has had many hair pulling out episodes with me mailing him to ask about prices for various random cockers!)
if anyone knows of such a site or maybe feels benevolent enough to post a coupla prices here) then thanx a lot
cheers guys

I use a simple rule.

total up everything at list price (inc upgrades etc)
take 60-70% of that depending on "desirability"
take about 5% that price off per year for age.

So say you have a FreeFlow - cost £1000 (say)

it's very desirable - so that's £700 (70%)

it's 2 years old (take off 10%)

= £630

So if I was selling I would have it at £650 and if I was buying I would offer £600.

But bottom line though with anything is it's only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.

This is true,

What ever some one is happy/prepared to pay.

If you want to spend £1000 on a clapped out old splatmaster then i am sure the seller would not complain.

When looking to buy any marker, try it out cause it may look great and not work and it may look sh1t but shoot like a dream.

Try to take some one who knows with you and they can help you out.

Ask as many questions as you like and watch how they answer. Not to be too paranoid.

But in the end it comes down to will I be happy with this. Do i really want this one,. can i afford it, is it worth the money,. If the answer is no then walk away there are always more deals around the corner.

Actually Cockers depreciate a lot less since they don't really get out of date very fast at all, and they're highly fashionable at the time. I'd say a year or two old $1000 Cocker would be around $850 used, especially if it comes with a match ano'd barrel. Extra items come as a convenience, and although they too would depreciate they wouldn't as much if they are paired with the gun. 3rd hand sales can actually be profitable. Probably the top resale values in Cockers are the Freeflow, Evolution X, and Shocktech, as they haven't changed very much in the last 2 years. 3 years drops off a bit more steeply though.
