The ball detent stops markers double feeding painballs. so when one drops into the breech it doesnt roll forward thus allowing another ball to drop in. they are generally found either just under or just in front of the feed tube.

There are also two styles of detent. Some are small screw in nuts with a small ball inside, and others are a piece of wire. Wire is found on the Evo's and nuts are on the Eclipse.
Wow. You learn something new everyday... I didn't know any cocker's have wire. You would think the're hard on paint.

Have a look at the description, they still use them in the Evo X. It's very soft on the ball and doesn't break as easily as the nut style ADB.

Don't Pro PB still use wire nubbins on their Freeflows? They used to, dunno if they still do or not.
Indeed they have!!! On first appearances, it seems to be a hybrid of both styles. The rubber nipple thing reminds me of a wire detente, but it's removable like a ball detente. I've just got one for my Angel, so I'll see how it performs at the weekend!
