Cocker Problems :(

Hello all.

I'm having some problems with my cocker. There are 2 main problems ...

1)The marker won't actually fire. It moves the back block back, but won't come back forward. I think it's something to do with the ram as I can push the back block forward but when I leave go the block moves back again.

2)The second problem is that I have a leak from the lpr. As soon as I turn the gas on I get a constant leak from the lpr, quite a big one too. I wouldn't be able to play a game with it. ( If the marker works)

The first problem was the lpr leak, and I had recently bought a new 3-way so I thought I'd upgrade the 3-way and see if it helps. I replaced the 3-way ( having to remove ram to replace the 3-way) and found that the 3-way hosing didn't actually fit the ram and lpr fittings so I put my old 3-way back on.

When I reassembled the new problem arised ....

I really don't know what to do, I'm pretty new to 'playing' with cockers and so need help. Also I have a tournament next sat / sun so I need help quick, otherwise it's a loaner from a friend ...

Please help me, I'm in desperate need ! My MSN addy is theldren@hotmail.com if anyone is willing to help me through there.

Many thanks

Charlie

well the 3-way problem is more than likely the actuating rod being too short/long and is making the back block stay back (as if you had pulled the trigger and hadn't released it). This can be fixed simply if you look at the cocker timing thingy pinned at the top of this forum.

The 2nd problem sounds as if you have blown a seal in the LPR. Do you know where the leak is coming from? also when you replaced the lpr after putting the 3-way on did you use any loc tight or ptfe tape? it could be a leak from a bad seal or where the lpr screws in coz of no tape or loc tight.

What was the problem with the hoseing that meant it didn't fit the lpr or ram? was it way too tight? could be because it is now hoseing. really try to get it on. Or put the old hoseing on the new 3-way but use some top hats to secure it on firmly.

Hope these points help.

The back block not moving forward is the three way timing. Your trigger isn't moving the shaft far enough to seal the valve, and pressurize the rear of the ram. Re-time the three way, and that should solve it.

On the LPR, it depends on what type of LPR it is, and where the leak is coming from.

The leak is from the lpr exhasut valve and it is a twister

I didn't use any loctight or ptfe tape as I don't have any ...

I'll try readjusting the 3-way

retiming the 3 way ain't helping...

as soon as it gasses up it moves the back block back, and when I pull the trigger it moves alittle forward, then back

tbh I don't know where the hell the exhaust valve is (not really dismantled on to find out whats in an lpr) if you mean the bit at the end with the twisty bit, have you tried turning it in? (I know it sounds stoopid but its the last thing I can think of).

right, sorted the back block not moving, thanks ventrepes / charlie it was the cocking rod, it didn't go back enough back when the trigger was released.

Still got the leak from the tiny hole in the lpr though?

Anyone got any ideas?

ah right, well that does sound like a duff seal or there being too high a pressure going into it, thus why it is having to vent the gas. Or the pressure of the lpr is too high, so turn the twister in to lower the pressure.

I run co2 so I doubt that it's too high pressure and I've always run it on co2.

I have tried screwing the knob both right in and out but it didn't help.

Me thinks its a dmaged o-ring / seal ...
