hello all,

i have just been checking the internet for videos on cockers etc but am still stuck on something.

the lug on a mid block e2 cocker, how do you know when this is timed correctly as all the cocker videos iv found are all mech cocker ones and its easy to test on one of them.

if anyone could clear that up for me that would be swell.

I think I would be a case of enough so it fires when it should but also catches the sear reliably, pretty much the same as a mech, just my 2p's worth I am sure someone like gee tee or any other cocker guru will say point you in the right direction

Thinking about it the way I would go about is:
Wind it in so it doesn't catch then slowly screw it out so that it just catches then quarter turn more for reliability sake, again just my 2p's

what does classic mode do?

i read on the nation that if you set the leg, manually cock it then press the bottom of the sear solenoid up it should fire about half way up. if that makes sense?

Classic mode if I remember is when you pull and hold the trigger the marker will fire and hold the back block to the rear, like if you pulled and held the trigger on a mech cocker

Ref: half way up, I think they mean the clapper noid pushes the front end of the sear up, which acts like a see/saw so the rear of the sear releases the hammer lug,(sorry if this sounds patronising, i am a bit of a geek with this sort of stuff) by having the lug set to half way through the noid action will help to stop the noid over working plus it means it trips the sear earlier than say at the last part of the noid travel, i have found from personal experience that it can be just trail and error to get it set where you want

Monkeyman's spot on about both lug setting and classic mode

Setting hammer lug to release between 1/2 and 2/3 of the sear noid travel is how I set mine. Although I had a few miss firing/burping issues on one of my Blades set 1/2 way, so I tend to set nearer to 2/3 travel now. You can check this manually with board switched off. Open up grip and cock the hammer by pulling the bolt back, then release the sear by lifting the clapper noid plunger with a screwdriver blade. That way you can actually see the release point for the hammer. Adjust lug as required and repeat check before finally re-testing with gun aired and powered up. Rearward cocking stroke is controlled by slotting to top of hammer, and it's important to get this right on DIY 1/2 blocks or bolt won't clear feed tube.

I often use classic mode to trouble shoot faulty Eblades. It's a useful way to slow cycle down so you can spot potential problems, such as naff LPR, hammer lug and bolt/ram travel settings
