Hi guys,

Have owned cockers of various kinds for about 12 months... never had a problem with them until now.

Took my marker out this morning to chron it and low and behold the thing won't stop choping :(

I have a good paint to barrel match (using Zap Chronic) and a .692 insert on me barrel system.

Gun is timed spot on, but when I'm firing all of a sudden it just breaks!! doh

I'm using an Eclipse cocker btw and I ain't short stroking, it even happens when I just really slowly (like firing 1 a second or so)...

Anyone got any ideas?

Any help appreciated :)

Cheers

Dave

Dave,
Are you breaking paint in front of the breech or in the breech? (Are you getting paint up in the feed tube or loader?) If actually in the breech check to see if your cocking rod has backed out a bit. If in front of the breech almost certainly the paint--and the bolt can and often does make contact with paint when it seals after completing it's pneumatic cycle.

Cheers lads,

Nothing breaking up into the feedneck or the hopper itself...

The bolt is still lined up perfectly I think, only a tiny part of it is visible when cocked, which is how I was told to time it, never had any problems with it before so I assume thats right :) correct me if I'm wrong :)

What is the shelf life of paint? Off the top of my head the paint I am using I think I have had for about six months in a cupboard... could this be the problem??

It appears to be breaking just in front of the breach from what I can see, just at the point where the barrel is screwed in.

Any more help appreciated

Cheers

Mate, if the paint has been stored correctly it will be fine. The site where I work, stores its paint really well. The Boss gave me a couple of thousand rounds of paint of variying ages up to 2 years!!! Didn't break any. Was all left over odds and sods.

Is your freak insert in the right way, one of my team mates had a problem with that a few weeks back. A helpfull passer by suggested we swap it around and everything was fine

Hi Ian,

Its a Powerlyte barrel system mate, only one way to put the insert in :)

I have even screwed all the barrel and stuff together and blown paint trough it, it seems to have no problems when I do this... so me well confused now :)
