Cocker Chop Down.

Is it possible to chop down a pre 97 cocker to a mini cocker. Obviously the back block and back end of bolt housings will need to be cut down to accept post 2k+ bolts, and the cocking rod will need to be shortened. But what else needs done to make it a mini?

If it's possible, which most of it should be but not sure if the dimensions are that easy to get right, especially around the front block & screw.

I would suggest that buying a minicocker body kit - from say www.g3pb.com - would almost certainly work out cheaper, plus you could get 2K spec kit with it.

To be honest......

I have all the bits needed to make it into a minicocker I just wanted somone to confirm that what I'm about to do has been done before and can be done, (plus I wanna chop)

The dimensions etc are all worked out and on CAD.

I just wasn't sure about the valve and the internals on a pre 97

You might want to consider re-threading the "new" front for 2K+ gas thru screw as you will have removed a significant portion of the air chamber and pre-98's were smaller internally to begin with.

I'm with Baca.

I believe the only difference to be the shifing backwards of the front block so you'll need to re-thread the front block screw and yes it makes sense to bore out to a 2k one, possibly even with a volumiser.

I don't think the valve or anything else is materially different, but then I've never taken a mini apart to say otherwise.

which shows it's just the front black moving back. I can't see that the valve/hammer/bolt dimensions would need to be changed at all.

chopping a cocker down will work fine, however as has already been said is that your chopping the valve air chamber in half. You have 2 ways of making the air chamber bigger either bore out the air chamber and rethread to fit a 2k gas through screw or use an expansion chamber . . . such as an AKA Mite Max

The things you need to change are the shortened pump rod and the acctuating rod for the 3 way.

Other wise everything fits fine!

hi yuh, dont know if uve realised this yet but the bolt lenght stays the same when u make a cocker into a mini

also, why bother? wont make the gun any better, will just mean you have to buy a mini voloume chamber to go on the front to get the same voloume of gas in the gun,
