hey there

I was just wondering, could you put n2 onto any gun? what upgrades would you have to make?
and how would you step down your gun from say 500psi to 200? and why would you want to?
sorry i am a newb player.
thanks

Yes you can add n2 to any gun provided that the regulator of the n2 system matches the required pressure of the gun.

I can see that you're reading a lot of posts, if the guns internal pressure needs to be 200 psi and you have a preset system giving out 500 psi, then you will need to use a secondary regulator to drop the 300 psi to suit the gun.
Quite often gun manufacturers will primarily drop the large n2 pressures of between 3000 psi and 4500psi, to a useable 700 psi, and then provide a secondary regulator to cause a further drop to say 200 psi to run the gun. This 2 reg setup provides a good stable pressure, and shot to shot stability.

Hope that helps.

n2 is better.
It's not so much lowering the pressure of the gun but matching the pressure of the regulator to the gun.

Are you rec-baller, if so it's probably easier to stick with co2. If you change to air you will need to refill your guns air bottle several times through the day. Which means either having your own dive bottle with you at the safe zone, or getting the site to provide air.
If you're a tourney player you shouldn't be asking this question.

lowering the pressure of the gun does not happen with air, as it still runs off the same pressure whatever gas you use. I assume from your other threads this is a spyder we are talking about. You cannot drop the operating pressure by much, you may be able to get 100psi lower with al the possible upgrades, but by the time you've bought those, you could have afforded and impulse, which runs at 200psi stock, and is a better all round gun!

The point of lowering the pressure that your gun runs at is for three reasons, firstly it is much more gentle on tournament paint, which is very brittle. secondly it reduces the kick on the gun, enabling accurate rapid fire. thirdly it reduces your noise signature.

Hope it helps :)

by the way, air is a much better system than co2, and you can buy a 'preset' tank and screw it right into where your CO2 tank is now.

no mods needed, you just screw a preset air system into the max flow that comes with it. Or you could buy a low pressure max flow, wich can go straight into the gun without the need for a secondary regulator.
