CO2 into an Air bottle?

L J

can an air bottle be used to put CO2 into, as i might be getting an impy on CO2 (cant afford air with it:( ) i play back and ill need at least 1200 shots, and a 20oz cyliner would get me about 800 on a good day, so..... could i get an air bottle, and insteas of fillign with air, fill with CO2???

if not, then how can i get enough shots without going to air??? surely u can get bigger CO2 bottles!!

Come on ickle JOHN ,you should KNOW that you cant put CO2 into an air bottle ;) .....If your getting an impy then you should be able to get at least a 1000 shots out of a full CO2 bottle .:D

Yeah, you can put co2 into an air bottle, but i wouldn't suggest using it for air afterwards, it will work fine with co2. And you will get alot more shots.

So my next question would be

does the bottle have to be in date??? as its only going to be at 800PSI not 3000 or more......

how many litres is 20oz.....how much bigger is a 1.1 litre bottle??? cos if a 0.8 bottle would still get me more shots that a 20oz ill get that!! as i said, ill be needing 1250 shots out of it, so what size would get me this?
cheers

Hold yer horses there buddy...

Isn't your air bottle a 3000psi bottle with a CO2-style valve? If so, it'll screw straight into a bottomline maxflo and work as expected (they are happy with up to 3000psi input.)

But you should get over 1000 shots from a standard 20oz CO2, unless the dwell is set completely wrong or your internals are too light.

As for bigger CO2 bottles, I know you're a back player but think of the weight - compressed air doesn't weigh much, but 20oz of CO2 weighs... well, 20oz. The more you pack, the heavier it'll be.

well, id have to sell my cocker to get an impy, and that would mean selling air system with it, so id have to use a 20oz canister...or some nice person could sell me a 3000PSI, i need at least 1250 shots from my air source, dont worry, a bigger CO2 tank wont bother me:)

go an email from donnie saying a 20oz should just about do 1250 anyway...which is good

if it dont then i spose i could over fill my Co2 a bit:D ;)
did that at work once, think we had 32oz in a 20oz!!!

Yikes, if it's overfilled to that amount then as soon as the frost on the bottle starts to melt, RUN. At that point, the pressure in the bottle would be rapidly approaching 3000psi. Better hope it's only the burst disc that blows, and that it's not pointing your way when it does :D

need to get hold of Tank for an exit
I used to put that much in to my co2 bottle when I used to play pump with my sterling - damn consistent, and hardly ever had to refil during the day.

After a while tho, my cup-seal blew, in hindsight I wonder of not overfilling the bottle would have helped......
