You can go to boc or air products and rent a large co2 cylinder, which give around 50 ish 20oz fills. They cost around £25 to get refilled when empty.

Just for info, the reason DF won't fill customers' own bottles is purely for the safety of marshals and other customers.

In the past, inexperienced players came to DF centres having bought their co2 bottles and valves by mail order and then just screwed the valve in hand tight. This could have resulted in a 'bottle rocket' if the valve were to be unscrewed accidentally from the bottle, as happened in the USA a few times last year.

Therefore to create a safer working and playing environment, the decision was made to not allow customers own bottles.

I have a co2 fill rig and large bottle for sale if your interested, but this would have to be collected, as it is a big bottle.

As Guppy said most sites won't fill bottles for safety reasons plus the UKPSF have been asking member sites not to fill bottles for players who are not playing on their sites.

The reason is simple there are a lot of people out their who have bought kit from various sources and then use their markers in areas other than paintball sites. These are the ones who create the problems for the paintball industry and you the responsible players. So if sites won't fill bottles they are not going to go to the expenses of renting bulk bottles from BOC or Air products. Hopefully this will stop them "playing" or at least play at a paintball site.

Here is an example of what I mean. A site was asked last week to fill some gas bottles for a group of lads who play at their local quarry. On questionning the player about their kit he found out that they had not all got masks and no insurance. The "player" said it was not a problem as they had a strict "Only hits below the knee count so they don't need masks" - The site owner refused to fill their gas bottles. (As well as offering advice on buying masks and playing at an insured venue)

Also about 18 months ago one of my staff filled a gas bottle and when they unscrewed it from the fill rig noticed the valve started to come out of the bottle. When I e mailed and then spoke to the person who supplied the valve and bottle and asked why they had not supplied correct fitting instructions or even fitted it for the customer I was told to stop being a **** stirrer as I didn't know what I was talking about !!!!!

Cough, Gizmos....
Great site, **** organisation...

Two 20oz bottles purchased, not even hand-tightened valves, and no instructions informing us to tighten them.

Also, one of my mates bought an electronic grip-frame off them, and got an entire JT marker instead... Sweet for him, but reckon somebody got fired for it!!

Dodgy stuff...
