Hi!
Ehm.. I got a question about clothing in Paintball. I thought about buying extra close (jersey, pb pants) but I wanted to know if it's even necessary. Do you (all) play with special clothes or do you just use some old pieces to play?
I thought about buying this jersey:
http://www.paintball-online.com/shop/product_information.asp?number=APJTJP&variation=&aitem=12&mitem=16&back=yes&dept=166 (in camo)

and those pants:
http://www.paintball-online.com/shop/product_information.asp?number=APPJPO&variation=&aitem=14&mitem=16&back=yes&dept=166

Do y'all think that's a good choice (good quality, good price?).
Thanks for answers.

If it's worth the price depends of course on your wallet. I won't help you much except looking the business.
Better stick with your old threads until getting on a team really "justifies" wearing jerseys IMHO.

As for a proper answer, the prices aren't that bad though.

Do whatcha like baby.

if u like the jersey go for it, but i cant see spending that much on a pair of pants! i have found that military spec cargo pants are very durable and have most features that alot of paintball pants have(reinforced knees and butt, cargo pockets...) and u can pick those up for around 20-25 (www.actiongear.com)

I'm not on a team, but I have the Jersey and the Pants. I don't really know what a good price is (haven't played much, and got them for my birthday).

PErsonally, I say that if you have enoughe extra money that you don't want for anything else, go for it.

The down side is: When you want to get on a team (if you ever do), odds are they won't use the same jerseys, and you will have to get new...

I still say go fer it. I don't (personally) like those pants as much, but what do I know??

However, military spec pants have a couple of disadvantages mainly 'cause they weren't designed with paintball in mind. They usually have nice hard buttons on most of the pockets which encourage breaks, and as they are made out of stiffer material most of the time the thick seams round the cargo pockets has the same effect. Pants specially designed for paintball avoid any extras that can lead to breaks as much as possible e.g. the Rase pants from Smart Parts which don't have buttons or thick welted seams (unfortunately, they don't have cargo pockets either but hey, you can't have everything).
Jerseys are the same - the modern paintball jersey is designed with the sport in mind in durable, washable & usually breathable fabrics with features like the strips down the side with extra breathability. Plus they look cool

I guess it depends on whether you are planning on playing recreationally (in the woods at an organised site) or at tournaments/walk on days.

If it's tourny play then it may be worth investing in specially designed/hi tech breathable clothing.

Walk ons - it depends on how fashionable you wanna be :)

If it's just for rec ball then save a lot of money and just buy military spec clothing from your nearest surplus store as already suggested.

forbidden...

Yeah!
I thought about that. But 'm from Germany and there's camouflage forbidden in Paintball! I know it sounds stupid but that's the law or at least the law on the paintball fields.
Thanks for all the tips!

I have recently bought the JT pro pants and they are spot on.
Good knee/shin protection loads of pockets nad a couple of squeegee pockets and they look smart!
only down side i have is you do get bit hot in them when just sitting around (because of the heavy material the knee slides are made from) but thats why they zip down to cool shorts in about 10 seconds!!:D

OK they were about £50 but it was a treat so what the hell.

camo is for wimps anyway! its so much more fun when people know where you are. screw being sneaky, full frontal!!!!!

but if you are on budget get what you can from surplus stores it all does the same job at the end of the day, no-one wants to play naked! OUCH!

i suggested the mil-spec pants in the view of the thread opening being a rec player or a weekend player, not a pro player having to worry about the smallest details. the buttons are a huge prob either, seeing that u can easily remove the ones on the cargo pockets and they still stay shut(front corner is sewn down) and the only other buttons are on ur butt pockets-which shouldnt be a problem, and then on the fly, which doesnt matter either. i understand that they arent made for paintball but if hes not a hard core arena ball player then it might be worth saving 20 bux with the mil spec. just my opinion though....

Ok, I looked on actiongear.com, but I couldn't find those pants. I put military spec pants as keyword search put it couldn't find it. Can you give me the exact link to it?
Thanks.
