Cleats

Over the winter period I've been using some hiking/walking boots for playing. Comfortable, warm, and they keep the cold and wet out. But the weather is getting better now and Im wanting to get something lighter with good grips. Im contemplating buying some Exalt TRX Cleats, but Im wondering if anyone knows what its like walking in shoes with cleats/studs/spikes ??

I had a pair of football boys donkey's years ago at school but I barely used them and don't remember what they were like.

I've been using a pair of nike air zoom flyposite's as i prefer to have a bit more ankle support compared to football boots and they are a dream to play in aslong as you don't tie them up to the top. i've never personally trid the exalt cleats but all i've heard is good reports from people about them. Try looking at the exalt cleat post on (i believe) bz paintball sub section.

In regards to the walking in studs, it's quite a change when walking around but i have gotten used to it, but on the field you notice no difference and they feel like a regular pair of shoes but with more grip.

i have the h18 vervs from just paintball, going from football boots to those was a big change, they're probably half the weight if not more. and theyre really flexible unlike footie boots which hurt your toes/foot when your kneeling funnily. well worth the dollar, and i cant see mine lasting any less than two years. 30 quid a year for a bang on pair of paintball cleats? i can hack that :)

So I have got the latest version of the Exalt Cleats and have used them on the astro at NPF. Very impressed with them and had planned to use them at Malaga! My purchase was to use on astro only, and from using them they offered excellent grip. Not sure how they would be on another surface

I've busted both ankles in the past playing rugby and football, and I have always tended to buy boots, so I also have landsharks. They are used muddy ground, as I prefer the blades in the ground.

ive got Exalt TRX's and they are fantastic, i use the the golf spikes in them, and they were grippy as at the bricket wood masters, anyone who was there will tell you it was pretty muddy in places, not only that they are really light and support your feet very well, much better than the originals, easily worth the money

Be careful in cleats if you're walking on hard surfaces a lot. I wore Tanel 360s to play Campaign in 2008 (possibly 2007 can't remember) and all the walking on concrete/tarmac to and from the staging area gave me plantar fasciitis and totally fecked my feet for about 18 months. Now have to wear mega supportive orthotics as a result. Now use the JT Pro cleats (with orthotics) and find them great, although probably a bit hot/heavy for summer.
